Give a workspace to your external display

  1. Find part of the display’s name: Apple menu → System Settings → Displays [check: that this name matches what JimiOS matches against]. For example “BenQ PD3205UA” contains “BenQ”. The match ignores capitals.
  2. Create or open ~/Library/Application Support/JimiOS Alpha/config.json (see Edit the settings file).
  3. Add the display and its workspaces:
    {"screen_workspaces": {"BenQ": [2]}}
    For more than one, list them: {"BenQ": [2, 3]}.
  4. Quit JimiOS from its menu and open it again.

Workspace 2 now shows only on the BenQ while it’s connected. Unplug it and workspace 2 moves to the laptop as it was; plug it back in and workspace 2 goes home.
